CARE SUCCESS STORIES

Dear CARE,
Wheezer went camping as soon as he got home. We came home from camping the first of October. He had a wonderful time.
He is a great little guy. He sleeps with me and my husband. He does not like my grand children or my vet.
But he loves to play with my cat and my daughters dogs. He can run so fast. I have enclosed some photos.
Thanks a lot from Jean and Wheezer

Dear Karen,
We just wanted you and your wonderful staff to know that Fluffy (AKA Rex) is doing absolutely great. He has not had any potty accidents in the house for 3 days now & I comb and brush him every other day & he looks and feels awesome.
He lays in our arms like a real baby and he stays where he lays. He loves his toys & believe me he has plenty of them. We just wanted to thank you again, because he has really highlighted our life. When we walk him neighbors always make over him, too!
P.S. He answers to the name Fluffy.
Sincerely,
Judy & Larry Kopechy |

Letter of thanks to C.A.R.E. 6/6/06
Dear Friends,
Just a note to let you know that Winnie is settling nicely. We are still working on house training (only one mistake since she came home). She is eating well and my vet gave her a good report.
I’ve enclosed a photo taken in her back yard. We’ve been taking short walks in the park almost every day too.
Thank you for saving her for me.

Gabby was adopted by a family outside of the St. Louis area. They saw her picture on our web site and immediately fell in love. Her adoptive family has two teenage children that take her out on "dates" and she tags along for every car ride. She has adjusted very well to her new home. Gabby's owner gave her up, because she couldn’t afford to take care of her. It is a common and inexcusable excuse that we hear all too often. Gabby was a homeless princess, but she has found her castle at long last. |

This is ‘Lucky” , Lucky was rescued by C.A.R.E. He is a mixed beagle that now has the job of being “Resident Caregiver” at the Scenic View Nursing Home. His job is to say ‘Good Morning” to every resident, visit each room, make people laugh, give them a reason to exercise by taking him outside, and saying "Good Night” to each resident. Lucky has proven to be a great representative of C.A.R.E. and we hope to have more dogs like Lucky in the future residing at Senior Homes. |

Miss Piggy was found roaming the streets. Karen stepped out of her car and Miss Piggy came to her cold, wet and hungry. After taking the dog's photo to an adoption event in Arnold, an elderly woman saw the picture and adopted Miss Piggy without seeing the dog in person. Karen dropped Miss Piggy off at her new home that evening and she is now in "hog heaven." |

Eddie was discovered hiding under a car in a trailer park. He was captured by a Jefferson County Animal Control officer and taken to their shelter facility. One of our volunteers spotted the frightened but sweet dog while cleaning cages. The volunteer raced her daughter over to see him as soon as school let out and it was love at first sight. Eddie is living a pampered life of luxury and leisure with his new Mom, sister and best friend, Bessie, a 15 year old Beagle mix. |

Hi Care Folks,
I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you. I adopted "Hoppy" the 3 legged Vizsla mix you had brought to the Manchester Petsmart. She has been wonderful and is doing great. I have her out a lot walking and running and she loves it. She flies after rabbits and squirrels.
All my friends and family love her - some don't realize and can't believe she's missing a leg. She gets around great and is taking all my petting and love.
I've told a lot of people about your organization and hope they will adopt from you or maybe send a donation.
You do good work!
Sincerely,
Kelly Galvin

Dear Ms. Schenks,
I am sending this note to thank you for helping me and my dog, Sheba. I am so glad you could help me get her spayed. My family was going to take her away from me if she had another litter, because I am unable to care for puppies. Losing Sheba would have broken my heart. Thanks to you, Sheba is still here. You are a wonderful person and I am very grateful for everything you have done for me. I will send a donation when I can and can do light work for you, because I want to help in any way I can. May God bless you for helping our family.
Sincerely yours,
Shirley
